Real Empowerment, Real Change, Real Talk: Empowering Voices in 2025

This year has been pretty awesome for Empowering Voices. 2025 has seen our charity grow, reaching more people in more places, and we are planning for 2026 and beyond. Here are the thoughts of a trustee, Leanne Kemp.
This year has been an exciting and rewarding one for Empowering Voices. We delivered three courses across the UK, all of which were a great success.
In response to feedback, we also introduced our first weekend course, helping to make our courses more accessible. We were delighted to welcome three new Trustees and grow our community to 66 Empowering Voices members.
As we reflect on the year, we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our supporters. We have developed and grown in ways we never imagined possible. The generous donations we have received from our members and from those who believe in our work have enabled us to expand the support we offer and reach more people in our community.
We have also been deeply touched by the fundraisers held in memory of the late Mark Jones.
These acts of kindness highlight Mark’s passion for our mission and for supporting people who stammer. They remind us how much this work matters and strengthen our commitment to building a positive future for those we support.
This year, we have made significant progress in developing our courses and follow-on support. We increased the number of courses delivered compared to the previous year, introduced weekly and monthly online support groups, created member handbooks, and developed a support directory. This means that even when a course ends, our members continue to have access to support they need.
We have also connected with a range of professionals, including website developers, and drawn on the skills and experience of our own members from diverse professional backgrounds. In addition, we have continued to work closely with STAMMA.
Our shared vision is to support as many people who stammer as possible, helping them better understand and manage their stammer, and build a more confident future.
We are always keen to connect with organisations and individuals who share our values and understand the importance of this work. Building partnerships is vital in helping us reach more people and provide the best possible support. If you feel you could help or collaborate with us, we would love to hear from you.
As we look ahead to the coming year, we are excited to continue our journey and further develop our courses and support to meet a wide range of needs.
