South London Course 4th - 6th February 2027
We are holding a three-day intensive speech course for stammerers in South London, taking place on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Our comprehensive programme aims to help adults who stammer learn to speak calmly and confidently, ultimately without fear.
How it works
• For those new to our costal breathing course, there is a £250 fee for our three-day course and ongoing support.
• After attending your first course, there are no additional charges: our fantastic ongoing and lifelong support and returning to another course to “top up” your technique are all free of charge.
Those new to our technique will be contacted within 48 hours of their application to provide more information about the course. We do not request payment until you are fully satisfied with what Empowering Voices offers.
If you have already taken a course outside Empowering Voices that uses costal breathing, you may still be able to attend one of our courses for free. If your technique has lapsed and you need to experience the course as a new person, you will be asked to pay.
Venue, accommodation and transport
The course takes place at the Croydon Campus of London Southbank University (LSBU) which holds spacious and contemporary training rooms.
The venue and recommended hotel are within a 5-minute walk of East Croydon station, a major transport hub in South London offering extensive and varied transport from central London, Gatwick, and the south coast. If you would prefer to drive, Croydon is accessible via the M25/M23 or park & ride options. We will provide guides on all transport options in late 2026.
If you need accommodation, we utilise premium budget hotels such as Travelodges and Premier Inns. Most people will stay at Premier Inn Croydon Town Centre, close to the training venue and conveniently located for transport and food options, although you are free to use an alternative hotel.
We will dine on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at one of the excellent restaurants in Croydon, a five-minute walk from your hotel and the venue.
