Empowering Voices celebrates International Stammering Awareness Day October 22nd 2025
International Stammering Awareness Day is one of the few occasions when the spotlight shines upon the stammering community. It allows us to celebrate our brave, resilient and brilliant community.
This year, ISAD is held on Wednesday, 22nd October, and Empowering Voices has a few events which recognise the importance of this day.
Open House
We are holding an “Open House” between 8pm and 9pm on Wednesday, 22nd October.
This will be an opportunity for people who stammer to talk with other stammerers, discuss issues that affect our community and learn more about Empowering Voices.

Free course for people on a low income
As a charity, we are deeply aware of the struggles some people face, not only with their speech, but also with their finances.
We want to help people who want to help themselves but unfortunately may not be able to afford our one-time-only course fee of £250.
Our intensive three-day course at Sheffield Hallam University, held on 7th, 8th and 9th November, has two free places* reserved for people who receive means-tested benefits.
